Super Sailor Neptune

This fuku is made by the queen of Sailor Moon fukus, Katherine Zan! I was so curious to see how she constructs her beautiful fukus and supporting fellow cosplayers and commissioners is something I’m happy to do. AmazonMandy is my strong and beautiful Uranus. We both had to do a little reworking on the costumes ourselves to get the fit just right. Mandy remade the torso portion of my leotard and I had to alter the gloves.

The wig is from Epic Cosplay, Hestia in Emerald Green. Shoes are a pair of black patent leather heels from Chinese Laundry painted green/teal and sealed with Modge Podge. The straps are cut from black patent leather and painted/sealed the same way as the shoes. I used buttons with elastic hoops to attach the straps to the shoes but found that one shoe didn’t want to play well. I plan on removing the buttons and replacing them with large snaps.

I came across a c. 1910, art nouveau, brass mirror on eBay that is pretty darn close to Michiru’s talisman. I love that it even has the flower etchings that Naoko used.
